Quilters has been somebody's home, owned and leased by a wealthy woman, an 18th century sail makers shop, a 16th century pub run by a fierce landlady, a yacht club and an air-raid shelter. Altered, renovated, damaged, excavated, emptied, re-enforced and restored. Now the drone of surrounding construction work and traffic interrupts its retirement and a modern world is seen through its walls.

The audience sat beneath a canopy made of curtains. The structure moved from over their heads and the inside of the vault was revealed. I pulled the mass of material outside of the space and hung my replica medieval dress on the fence.
